You have to swim out into that ocean called life,
get your ship, and bring it in.
Don’t just sit around waiting on
someone else to bring it in for you!
Taking responsibility for your actions and
attitudes is the basic tenet of “being proactive.” If we view ourselves
merely as pawns in the game of life, we become victims to a fickle and
rapidly changing world. On the other hand, when we perceive ourselves as
being in control of our thoughts, attitudes, and actions, we place ourselves
in a position to make a difference; creating a world of meaning and
contribution.
If it is to be, it is up to you!
As you look toward the future, you must truly understand one thing —
the only way you will achieve your dreams is to start taking charge of your
life. In other words, you must swim out into that ocean called life, get
your ship, and bring it in. Don’t just sit around waiting on someone else
to bring it in for you. I am not talking about doing what you want because
we all have to answer to a higher authority. I’m talking about taking full
responsibility for yourself to ensure that you have a more rewarding life.
It’s all up to you!
Over the years, I have learned that one of the hardest lessons for anyone
to learn is that you are totally responsible for yourself. I’m sure you have
heard many times before that you are where you are in life because of the
decisions that you have made and the actions that you have taken.
Taking responsibility for yourself is
not easy. Why? Because it’s always easier to blame someone else for the bad
things that have happened in our lives. Yes, maybe you have been a victim, but
you can’t use this as an excuse for not moving forward in life. The reason
why you can’t use excuses to justify your problems is because it is YOU
who is responsible for making the decisions that allow you to move forward
in your life. Your future is too important!
Do you want to move forward and live as a successful person? If your
answer is “yes,” then you must take and accept full responsibility for your
thoughts and actions. In other words — from now on, no more excuses!
